Bus timetable not going well

Vicki Dunne has put out a media release expressing the dissatisfaction of many Canberra parents after the school buses were royally arsed around with at the very end of the school year by the blithering incompetents who run the city.

Sure, change the bus timetable, lie about it to say its to make it more convenient when we all know it’s a service reduction driven by cost cutting.

But why mess with the school buses this late in the year? It’s only people’s lives they’re jerking around.

The ABC reports ACTION anticipates that soon enough the people of Canberra will get used to the pain.

Never mind the width, feel the quality.

I am feed up with the new timetable.

I live around Gungahlin and I work in Barton. I now arrive at work 15 minutes later in the morning and have to sprint to my bus in the afternoon as the timetables do not match.

Have written letters to ACTION, Transport Minisiter and local members.

One of the reason I moved to Canberra is that the Public Transport was promoted as being great and cheap – what a load of crap now.

They say to be green and not use your cars, well the people in Gungahlin that don’t work in Civic are going to have to.

ah the pluses of buses.

there so flexible.

ecxcept that when you put lightrail in, and a business moves to be near it – the route isnt usually changed on a whim.

i just love the sustainable transport plan.

Still, at least Hargreaves’ statement on the matter will go down in political history as one of the greatest pieces of spin ever:

With fewer buses running, the timetable is now easier for everyone to remember (paraphrased). Brilliant.

Not only school kids. I chose my office space in Mitchell because it was close to a bus route, and a good deal of my clients travel by bus (as well as a few of my employees) and now, today, I’ve discovered that they’ve cancelled buses down Hoskins St except in peak hour. Most people visit my business between 10am-4pm. The nearest bus in off-peak only goes down Flemington Rd – a bloody long way to walk from where I am.

Thanks for nothing ACTION/Stanhopeless ya pack of bastards.
