Heading back towards the You Are Here hub after a late lunch, Festival Coordinator Adam Hadley and myself happened along a rather exciting scene outside of Mooseheads. The You Are Here team quickly mobilised to stare through the windows and gossip.
A rather large pile of suspicious looking goods were being sorted through by police, and two men with terrible haircuts were looking quite sad.
We will update the story as soon as we get a comment from the Police.
UPDATE: We received this comment from a police spokesperson:
The men were pulled over for a traffic incident outside Mooseheads.
One of the men was arrested as he was found to be in possession of a drug of dependence.
He has been taken to the ACT Regional Watch House.

I referenced the police statement because there was no mention of commercial quantity, which lead me to believe that what the police found was “drug of dependence”, which subtly suggested that they just had some small quantity of cannabis on them.
They’ll probably just get a TIN and a fine for the weed.
Hardly a crime (actually, technically, it isn’t a crime), unless you include Bad-Hair-Do as one.

Actually…. The Police statement says “drug of dependence” which includes but is not limited to heroin, bupamorphine, methamphetamine etc.
Cannabis is a prohibited substance, where anything under 25g would have gotten the offender a SCON… So… I think you can safely say it is not cannabis, so DrKoresh, does Tooks get an apology because your retort is based on no fact?
Here I was thinking (hoping?) the Mullet-Hawk was an endangered species…

Yeah, apologies. I think I read the law back-to-front. Drug of dependence doesn’t include cannabis, as the above poster has already mentioned, as it is a prohibited substance.
Here’s a more comprehensive list of drug of dependence.
Includes cocaine and meth (ice).

Yeah i didn’t think cannabis was considered a drug of dependence and nor should it IMO.Going by looks alone,hardly an exact art,i suspected speed or ekkies users/dealers.
When I read a warm and touching and above all reasonable thread like this, I just can’t understand why some people might be loath to comment here…
