Fyshwick-based business CEA Technologies has been awarded the Defence contract to continue the design and development of phased array radar systems.

The contract is expected to lead to another for the construction of the system later in the year.

This is part of an upgrade of the Anti-Ship Missile Defence on the ANZAC ships. The design of the phased array radar system needs to be able to be integrated into the hull of the ANZAC ship.

Commodore Drew McKinnie RAN, DMO’s Director General Major Surface Ships, said, “This is a complex project, but with the expertise in industry and Defence working in collaboration, we are confident of creating a system that offers exceptional capability. We look forward to seeing a world-leading system at sea in our ANZAC frigates, defending them from missile attack.”
