Canberra deserves an A-League team?

The Roar is carrying a heartfelt plea for an A-League team in Canberra.

Interestingly it seeks to rebut the notion that the GWS AFL tie in has nailed shut the coffin of the A-League bid.

I think people want to support the A League but the big problem is the lack of talent and the fact its only covered by pay TV which means its hard for people to watch the games and develop an interest.

I’d certainly be interested in going to a few games every year if we had an A-league team.

in three weeks, when australia is awarded the 2022 world cup, ffa will magically reconsider their strategies for a-league expansion and canberra will loom large.

‘interestingly’? of course the article should and does rebut this glib ‘excuse’.
