Canberra FTW on electricity

For reasons of their own Catallaxy have been looking at the differences in electricity prices between Canberra and Queanbeyan.

So if a family consumed 4000 kilowatt-hours in a year, they would pay $820 in Canberra and $1274 in Queanbeyan.

Nice for some.

Canberra’s got the highest water prices in the country. I suppose it evens out.

Well, they pay less rates than we do…

Ya, because IPART raised prices to cover infrastructure (which should be covered anyway) and the CPRS (which fell over). All I can say is, thank God I’m not in NSW any more!
