They’ll be celebrating in Fyshwick tonight, Craig Silverman’s year in media errors has found time to give our very own Canberra Times a mention as an Other Favourite for Typo of the Year:
The Canberra Times:
The article “Game on in Dickson’s twilight zone” (June 23, p4) incorrectly reported the 2011 Canberra Roleplaying and Games Festival Triptych theme as “immorality.”
The theme was “immortality”.
Congratulations to all involved!
Always going to be hard to do worse than this one from a few years back…

Oh yeah, there should be a language warning for the link on my previous post.
Has anybody else noticed over the past two days the dropping of their traditional Times Bold font on the letters page and some headlines and its replacement with the more tabloid-style Verdana? CT preparing for the switch to being a tabloid from next March?
Reminds me of a few years back when The Australian referred to Iran as “a bastard state” then a few days later had to print a correction saying that they meant to say “a Baathist state”.

I have to make my own correction, I meant to say Iraq, not Iran.
