Jazz enthusiasts will be delighted by live music from some of the best big bands, swing ensembles and blues bands from Canberra and interstate. Local venues around Canberra will be hopping to the swinging rhythms of the 20s, 30s and 40s.

Canberräng 2010 also includes two free demonstration events. Everyone is invited to come along and watch some swing dancing, or join in if they like. These free public dances are at Garema Place (7 August, 11am) and the Old Bus Depot Markets (8 August, 11.30am).

The name “Canberräng” is a twist on Herräng, a town in Sweden, which every year over four weeks hosts the biggest swing dance camp in the world. If you can’t make it to Herräng come to the next best thing, Canberräng!
