This weekend Canberra will be inundated by swing dancers from all over Australia, Canada, the US and even Korea!

Canberräng—Canberra’s Festival of Swing is in its 5th year and continues to attract visiting dancers and spectators alike with its blend of community events and high energy dancing and live local music, all at iconic Canberra locations.

*The Australian Hellzapoppin’ Prize at Albert Hall (Friday 10 August, 7.30pm)
* Kings Hall, Old Parliament House – Limelight and Elana Stone with a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald (Saturday 11 August 2-4pm)
*Sin City Shanghai Supper Dance with the Blamey Street Big Band(Saturday 11 August, 7.30pm)
* The Canberräng Shebang at the Yarralumla Woolshed with The Fuelers (Sunday 12 August 2-5pm)

good question! It’s a local twist on Herräng, a town in Sweden that hosts a big swing dance camp around this time every year.

“If you can’t make it to Herräng, come to Canberräng – the next best thing!”
