Canberräng - Canberra's Festival of Swing! 4-6 August

This weekend Canberra comes alive to the sounds of big band swing, small group jazz, and hundreds of excited swing dancers buzzing with excitement, for Canberräng is upon us! Canberra’s Festival of Swing is in its fourth year and continues to attract visitors to Canberra from all over Australia and across the Tasman.

Everyone is welcome – there is loads of free stuff for dance afficionados, fans of the deco period, and live music for jazz and swing fans.

HIGHLIGHTS
Friday 4 August
8.00pm–11.30 ~ Kick-off Dance with Palermo Express (Austrian-Australian Club, Mawson)

Saturday 5 August
11.30am–12.30pm ~ Lindy Bomb the City (Chess Pit, Garema Place)
2.00pm–4.00pm ~ Swinging voters become swing dancers at Old Parliament House with Limelight
7.00pm–11.30pm ~ Divine Dinner Dance with the Blamey Street Big Band (Southern Cross Club, Woden)

Sunday 6 August
11.30am–12.30pm ~ Dancing in the sun at Kingston Bus Depot Markets
2.00pm–4.00pm ~ Cinematic highlights from the swing era at the National Film and Sound Archive
