The four biggest teams in ACT women’s sport are all going to the pub, apparently to promote “Canberra’s Summer of Women’s Sport” but also possibly because they would like a beer.

Four Teams, the Canberra Capitals (basketball), Canberra United (football), ACT Meteors (cricket) and Canberra Heat (volleyball), are about to start their new campaigns for their upcoming seasons. These four teams will be representing the Nation’s Capital in National Leagues across Australia, this will enable to showcase and highlight Canberra’s unique position as a leader in elite women’s sport. On the back of National Championships by the Capitals and Canberra United, there has been a significant shift in the recognition in the women’s sporting landscape allowing for greater coverage of the city’s women’s teams in summer national competitions.

Summer time has become women’s elite sport season in Canberra.

This is a great opportunity to see the four major team’s band together to help promote and build further support for their upcoming season home games.

This is a great opportunity to see the four major team’s band together ….

Are they looking for sponsorship from greengrocers as well?

Who do they think they are, drinking at that time?

Poets or something?

Going to the pub at 10:30am? That’d put some of the Raiders to shame!!!

I like the womens sport in Canberra. Cheap, good atmosphere and generally get good results. Much better value for money than seeing Raiders, Brumbies or the Giants
