Canberra’s Indie Game Developers Celebrated this Saturday at iFEST

iFEST indie games festival is happening in Canberra this Saturday, November 29th . The free festival is now in its fourth year and is set to showcase the work of Canberra’s most promising independent game developers. iFEST provides the opportunity to game developers working without major studio support to show their work to the wider development community and the general public. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

In addition to showcasing local talent, A key feature of iFESTis the industry speaker sessions. There is a strong emphasis on the sharing of knowledge and ideas amongst the group and this is led by thought provoking presentations from a variety of current developers and professionals in the gaming industry.

Canberra iFEST is pleased to announce this year they have attracted speakers such as Luke Plunkett – a Canberran writing for major video gaming website Kotaku.com, Mark Schramm from Canberra/ German indie game development studio VR Bits and James Kozanecki from Sydney based games publisher Surprise Attack.

Since first unveiling their debut game ‘Bearzerkers’ at iFEST 2013 Canberra developer Wildgrass Games have gone on to receive interest from major gaming global gaming websites.

“Show casing our game at iFEST served as a great launching point for our studio” said Tom Spratt, Co-Founder – Wildgrass Games.

We look forward to a great day full of presentations and discovering great new Canberra games, strengthening the Local Game development community.
