Can’t find the Legislative Assembly? (it’s got a new sign)

assembly sign

Remember all of the construction that was going on around the Legislative Assembly?

Well, now we know what it’s for: there is a shiny new sign for the Assembly just outside the building.

What’s Your opinion?

There’s something about that phrasing that doesn’t sound right.

“Parliament of Australia”
“Parliament of NSW”

And importantly “Legislation Assembly of the Northern Territory”

Why “for” rather than “of” – sounds like an awkward hold over from before self-government.

It would also look to be quite effective at stopping a truck loaded with explosives.

Looks nice, although I wish they’d get rid of the signage above the entrance with the dagy 1970’s font.

I was thinking that, though it’s more for incidents like the guy who drove a 4×4 into Parliament House, or even more notoriously: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTOr9QYIewM&feature=related

Oklahoma City, Australian Embassy in Indonesia – trucks only needed to bet nearby on the street. Hence when they occasionally talk about digging up City Hill for a new Legislative Assembly in a bunker like structure set in the hill, I must about what policy they could possibly announce that would literally force them underground?
