The National Capital Authority have given notice that the beloved fountain is not working:
The Captain Cook Memorial Jet is currently out of operation due to a fault with an electronic value.
The National Capital Authority will advise when more information is available.
Once suspect an electronic valve might actually be to blame, but given the litany of miserable failure that is the NCA who can say?
Here’s a screenshot for posterity:

Put the letters out to tender, a vowel was cheaper than a consonant.
That blasted carbon tax! Now the NCA can’t even afford to pay the bills.
Just guessing that the proofreaders have again gone missing in action.
Value = Valve
Re-read the original post. I stand guilty of second guessing.
surely its a fault with the ‘electric avenue’
We gonna rock down to Electric Avenue/And then we’ll take it higher/except when the fountain isnt working/then there aint no higher

Now I’m going to have an earwig all day…
Are these the same people responsible for Bvlgari?
The electronic value? Last time I checked it was 240 volts …

– Eddie Izzard, I believe
The NCA have now tweeted that the problem is, in fact, a valve.

I seriously doubt the Jet runs of 240v, single phase, that you would power a kettle from.

And Evropa in the Canb Centre?
One suspects “Once suspect” is incorrect.
Maybe the value was 0?
