I’m the VP for CARMBA and mum to four year old triplets. We totally agree that there aren’t enough weekend events and we’re trying to improve that. Last month The Fun Day, held on a Saturday, had 72 families from Canberra and Region attend. We had a few weekend events in the second half of last year and have some more planned for this year. Unfortunately as the children grow up and start school there is a drop off in attendance due to sporting commitments. CARMBA is only as good as the volunteers involved, at the moment we have a fabulous Committee and lots of others involved in numerous ways. Yes, the volunteers are usually mums but we have a fabulous number of dads who are actively involved and we love it.

We totally agree that dads of multiples need help, advice and socialising and we have two dads who are the contacts for fathers. We’ve had two Dad social events in the last six months and look forward to having some more.
