Chief Minister heading to China

By 7 April 2014 10

Katy Gallagher is set to join Tony Abbott’s trade mission to China this week with a vision of attracting more investment into Canberra.

The delegation arrive in Shanghai on Thursday and will be joined by the ANU and UC vice-chancellors (Prof. Ian Young and Prof. Stephen Parker), to promote our local universities.

The main focus of the talks is on infrastructure, tourism and education.

I can’t help but recall watching Four Corners last night and hearing about China’s reliance on shadow banks and the potential instability created due to this and wonder what impact a local reliance on Chinese business would have if the markets were to shift as some currently predict.

She can swap notes with fellow socialists about how best to indoctrinate our children at ACT schools rather than give them a decent education, sharing the love with her mentors over there and discuss why Australian students are dropping in international rankings while China are on the top of the ladder. If she mentions the phrase “balanced education” you know it’s just an excuse for our dropping standards, as we’ve always had a balanced educational system, but now the academic part of “balanced” is taking a dive and government educators are in denial.

Some socialists are more equal than others.
I hope she takes the opportunity to lecture China on their version of human rights.

Waste of time and money. Does she really think a country like China cares about investing in the ACT?

That’s an interesting comment, considering you expressed your complete confidence in the judicial and penal system of the Peoples Republic of China’s in another thread.

You really must have trouble sleeping with that, and the many other conflicting and contradicting thoughts you continually display!

You are holding the ACT Government accountable for education throughout Australia? If socialists “indoctrinate” children rather than educate them why do you then complain that China is “on top of the ladder”?

Which part of the curriculum in Canberra do you see as indoctrinating children?

“with a vision of attracting more investment into Canberra”
bwahahaha

It took the ACT gov around 12 years and a bridge which had to be built twice to connect 15km of road,

Good luck in getting Chinese investors for infrastructure.

But we seized the opportunity to invest in a Better Place. We still have the infrastructure which cost $10 million and re-charges a few cars every day. Only a few more cars to use it and the Chief Minister can boast that patronage has doubled!
Yes, our Territory Government sure can pick the winners.
