Last Friday the Chief Minister put out a slate of 8 media releases embargoed into the new year and Shane Rattenbury followed suit.

But today when no-one but our all-seeing eye is looking the Remuneration Tribunal has published a slate of determinations made in November but held back until now.

Determinations 6 through 13 are Christmas Eve specials.

Oh Excellant timing .. Kate has the hat out for extra dosh like the holden deal, but first receives a payrise for herself.

You would think the politicians would recognise that perhaps a wage freeze all around will eventually keep prices down.

Didn’t the ACT Heritage Council f*** up bigtime all year, and weren’t they castigated for it?

Yet here’s their reward for incompetence:

“ACT Heritage Council
Following consideration of information provided by the Council through written submission and the appearance of Council representatives before the Tribunal, the Tribunal noted the increased complexity in fulfilling the role of the Office and the need for technical skills as well as the ability to respond to community concerns. The Tribunal therefore decided to increase the per diem remuneration rate for the Council Chair and Members to $605 and $475 respectively. “

For a tiny little jurisdiction, we do have quite a few carriages on the gravy train, don’t we?

This will be something to remember next year, when we are being told that the latest increase in rates/fees/charges is only the same as a coffee per month/week/day etc.etc.

All I want for Christmas is an Open Government, not just a website.
