Clandestine Canberra over 2020

Supposedly the Kurrajong Hotel in Barton closed its entire restaurant and bar last night for a small group of about 10 people to have dinner.

When quizzed why after trying to get a drink and being denied despite an empty venue, the barman said the small group of people wanted privacy and had paid to have the place to themselves.

Now I am not one to pick celebrities or 2020 participants, but certainly the group did not look very important – certainly no Cate Blanchet’s amongst them.

Possibly Brian Burke is in town wining and dining his friends in the ALP?

Can anyone shed any light on who this group was prepared to pay to have a restaurant and bar closed over one of the busiest periods in Canberra?

Anyone else encountered it at other venues around town?

I’m half expecting the ABC Chaser boys to turn up in cricket gear and attempt to gate crash APH….. it is the Twenty20 summit this weekend innit?
