So now the Cotter Dam is almost complete, how about sticking a climbing wall on it?

Nah, wrong sort of dam wall.

I wonder what Snowy Hydro would think if I went out to Tumut Pondage Dam with a hilti and couple of grand worth of holds?

It is isn’t it, from the photos I just looked at it just looks like a huge stair case.
The Tumut dam does have potential though, perhaps just chip the holds in instead though to save on cost.

No thank you. I doubt the rate payers, or ACTEWAGL, would want to be found liable when someone fell off.

Rate payers being found liable??

OK, I should have been more precise. Whoever permitted the construction of the climbing wall would be sued for not ensuring the safety of the climbers – though how they could do so without ruining it as a climbing wall is beyond me. On the assumption that that is ACTEWAGL, which is partly owned by the ACT Government, the taxpayers would end up paying if the suit was successful.

Thrillseekers? My @rse!!

A hugely juggy route on artificial holds, with bolted pro every four foot. You’d get more thrill out of taking a laxative and a sleeping tablet at the same time.

Sissy stuff, thrills for fakers.

I predict as soon as the construction site is cleaned up, Police will rather frequently be called to deal with base jumpers and climbers on the wall.

Interesting thing though is there seems to be confusion within ACTEW over access to the Dam.

On the day, an ACTEW rep specifically and emphatically stated that the construction roads would be removed and no access would be possible to areas above the dam. And it wasn’t the first time folks at ACTEW had said this, citing need to keep people away for security and safety.
Then in CT, Sullivan was saying walking trails would be established using the construction roads and people would have access above the dam.

So which is it?
