Jon Stanhope is back to prime comedic form, praising the retiring Chair of the Land Development Agency (LDA) John Haskins:

“Mr Haskins joined the LDA Board at a critical time and his industry expertise was instrumental in driving the development of new land releases and in preparing an ambitious but necessary land release program,” Mr Stanhope said.

“Land is a major component in the cost of housing and the significant increase in the supply of serviced land has played an important part in the success of Government’s Affordable Housing Strategy;
Mr Haskin’s role at the LDA has been a key to that success.”

One would hate to see what an unsuccessful Affordable Housing Strategy would have looked like.

I’m just waiting for Stan Hopeless to retire to see which one of the many mates he has made in the development sector reward him with a fat luscious consultancy.

I’m really starting to think they should all get the flick every five years or so before they have a chance to really screw things up.

I have been a Canberran since 1969. Before self government and after. Black Mountain Tower ramrodded illegally under Whitlam (I like it but…). Belconnen Mall sold to Westfield under Ros Kelly, self government imposed after majority referendum against it by Labor. Qantas, CBA and Telstra sold off by Labor.

Australia has provided worlds best social services by Labor. Australian Lifestyles, home affordability, public schooling, public and mental health, crime prevention and public art is as good as it gets. Pure Utopia!

Thank you Mr Stanhope for legal brothels, legal porn, the Symonston Country Club pushing free needles because your bouncers are corrupt or cannot do their job and your unreserved moral condemnation in the recent ‘simulated’ bestiality news for a member of an organisation your government made heaps of money from by marketing special number plates. Good to know that you and your government are looking after us and our kids and encouraging tax/rate paying perverts to share Shangrala!

By the way, are there any conflicts of interest the ACT Government or individuals or contractors in a position of trust employed or engaged by the ACT Government wish to disclose? Is there a conflict of interest disclosure policy in the ACT Public Service or are are they so far intermingled to address and remedy without causing embarassment? (Forget loss of reputation).
