We’ve heard word of more controlled burns today.

The ACT Territory and Municipal Services Directorate (TAMS) will today, Thursday 14 March, 2013, weather permitting, continue with a hazard reduction burn in Namadgi National Park at Pago Break.

The burn is approximately 300 hectares in size.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.

For more details on the burns, visit www.tams.act.gov.au or call Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.
