This winter snow will be falling in the ACT, with an iconic attraction restarting snowmaking after a 10 year
hiatus. Corin Forest will be opening a snow play area less than an hour from the heart of Canberra, bringing a
real winter experience closer than any other city in Australia.

Following its reopening on Boxing Day with new management at the helm, Corin Forest is bringing a modern
alpine experience to the outskirts of Canberra, creating a fun day trip for families from the region where they
can play in real snow.

Visitors have flocked back over summer, enjoying the tranquil mountain setting and the high adrenaline
alpine-slide. With the refurbished café and lounge spaces to be fully open by the start of winter, Corin Forest is
aiming to deliver a truly unique and memorable experience.

Corin Forest General Manager Dane Liepins said the team are looking forward to sharing a proper, white
winter with visitors.

“We can’t wait to have snow on the ground. We’re opening a 2500 metre squared snow play park for families
and visitors to enjoy a real winter experience.

“We’re starting with the park this year, and are looking to have a ski-slope going for lessons and occasional
skiers over the next few winters.

“Even if you aren’t going to play in the snow the new café and home cooked menu is a great setting for lunch
or coffee, it gives a winter experience you can’t find anywhere else in the region.”

The snow comes courtesy of the brand new, state-of-the-art snow making system supplied by leading Italian
manufacturer Techno Alpin. The snow guns in use at Corin Forest are some of the most advanced and energy
efficient products on the market meaning we can make more snow, more often.

Corin Forest will be open every day of the snow season (dependent on access road closures).

Great idea!
– what will it cost to go in? and will there be website updates on how much snow is around.

There will be two sessions a day, 9am – 12:30pm and 1pm – 4:30pm, entry will be $15 per person for each session, with toboggan hire for $5. People can bring their own toboggans as well.

Hey sepi do you understand snow report english? I only understand a few phrases, eg.

“Good spring skiing” = “Icy puddles with grass and rocks between them”
“Fresh powder” = “You won’t be able to find the carpark let alone your car”
“Conditions best early” = “I hope you like downhill skating in the morning and swimming in the afternoon”

Pretty good to hear that somebody is finally getting the place up and running again. It used to be packed all winter, so I imagine there must be some money in it.

Lets just hope the fun police don’t keep closing the road there every time there’s a light dusting of snow…
