Simon Corbell has announced he’s bringing in a bill to let Commonwealth and other State Environmental Agencies operate in Canberra:

“The Planning, Building and Environment Legislation Amendment Bill 2013 (No 2), (PABELAB), makes a number of amendments to legislation within the Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate portfolio,” Mr Corbell said.

The Bill amends the Environment Protection Act 1997 to permit the EPA to authorise Commonwealth or State environment protection agencies to operate in the ACT.

“This change will foster regional collaboration between environment protection agencies, streamline joint regulatory operations and help the EPA respond to cross-border environmental incidents and emergencies,” said Mr Corbell.
