Two weeks ago Kerces wrote about the extension of trading hours at Wesfield’s Belconnen and Woden. Today the Canberra Times has revisited the subject.
Personally I’m not keen on the corporate collectivism of Westfield which turns the store owners into somthing akin to feudal serfs.
The Cinema in Belconnen stays open to midnight and that never forced surrounding businesses to extend their hours. What amazes me most is how many of these quite large businesess seem incapable of organising shifts.
I for one applaud longer opening hours. Why as a society we all need to go to the metaphorical ladies room together is beyond me.
