There is an article in the CT today about calls for cycle path work around the Kingston foreshore.
After riding in that area a few weeks ago I would have to agree.
It was impossible to work out how the cyclepath from the wetlands connected to the otherside of the foreshore.
Worse, when I did finally get back on a cycle path along Canberra Avenue, I hit a huge bump caused by a tree root that destroyed my back wheel beyond repair and even broke contents in my pannier.
(That cycle path is a perfect example of why some cyclists prefer to ride on the road rather than on the cycle paths).
The whole area needs to be fixed up quickly.
Yup, I wouldn’t hold your breath though – 14 months later and this other section of the lake ride hasn’t been fixed either: http://the-riotact.com/canberras-cycle-path-repair-shame/41684

Was going to photograph it and send it in, but – you know – priorities.
They’ve blocked a section in Kingston Forshore solely, it seems, to discourage people using it. WTF?
How on earth did you end up on Canberra Ave from the wetlands? Congrats anyway . . you must have ridden through Fyshwick and lived to tell the tale.
