Cycling and GDE roadworks

Hey folks, just after some quick advice on the best cycling route from Mawson to Belco (Town Centre), as I’ve just moved to a new job up there. From the car, Glenloch Interchange seems as bit of a mess – might be worth avoiding completely and going through Civic then Barry Drive?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Speaking as a path avoider, this is a fantastic cycle path. Just watch out for
a) the North Curtin underpass floods when it rains, watch for the flashing light
b) idiots who can’t stay left at the underpasses and tunnels – when it gets warmer
c) the bend near the footy oval/basketball centre is another head on opportunity.
Just following the path from the paddock across from the Mawson shops, don’t cross the drain until that’s the only option, cross Lady Denman at the lights (only needed since the roadworks) will get you to the Benjamin way lights.
You can hop onto the GDE after the Glenoch tunnels if you prefer.

you can indeed do the whole thing on bike paths. My new commute will take me the other way on the same route.
Coming from the bike path around the lake/Lady Denman you’ll be lead through a few underpasses which will take you around and across Glenloch Interchange safely.
Watch out though, there’s a vicious Magpie right after the underpasses. This one claws at people’s backs.

Why would he want a photo of the paths? Are you inferring a amemeory problem here?

The roadworks have not affected the cycle paths.

My suggested route:

Mawson-Curtin
Curtin-Scrivener Dam
Turn off the cycle path at the traffic lights just after the toilets at Yarramundi Reach
Take your pic of paths to Belconnen.
