Chief Minister Gallagher has announced a new scholarship recipient:

Chief Minister and Minister for Health Katy Gallagher, has presented the inaugural Peter Sharp Scholarship to first year Australian National University medical student Danielle Dries.

“I congratulate Danielle Dries on being selected to receive the inaugural Peter Sharp Scholarship and recognise her commitment to working with Indigenous communities in New South Wales and Tasmania as a qualified physiotherapist,” the Chief Minister said.

“This scholarship, funded by ACT Health, is a tangible way that we can remember the memory of Dr Peter Sharp who was the first Medical Director of the Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service and the contribution he made to the Canberra Indigenous community.”

The placements undertaken by Ms Dries provided her with different aspects on Indigenous health and the way it is perceived within different communities.
