Canberra comic Dayne Rathbone will be headlining Comedy Club at Civic Pub this Wednesday night October 6.

A Canberra crowd favourite who performed in the Green Faces final and at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this year, Rathbone has thrilled audiences with unpredictably bold performances and hilariously awkward character pieces. His act frequently includes audience interaction, fantastical stories, and cats. Yes, cats.

Those in the know about the local comedy scene are very excited by the prospect of a headline length set from Rathbone that has had them asking questions such as:

Will Quincy join him on stage?
Will there be cats in a barrel, or even Gatling guns?
Will there be songs sung in red speedos?

All will be revealed on Wednesday, October 6. So make sure you catch this set from Rathbone before he moves to Melbourne later in the year like all the big fish in this small pond seem to do.

Joining Rathbone on stage on is Tom Gibson, Emo Parsonson, Kale Bogdanovs, Roger Rooney, Aaron Pakula and Jasper Burfoot.
Comedy Club at Civic Pub is held the first Wednesday of every month upstairs at Civic Pub in Braddon. Show starts at 8pm. Entry fee is $10 at the door. Next show is Wednesday, October 6.

‘Dayne Rathbone performed a brilliant character piece that was timid, emotionally stunted and rather creepy… He had the crowd in stitches and was the highlight of the
show.’

The most unfunny guy I have ever seen.

I’d almost punch him in the head for wasting 20 mins of my life.

Luckily enough the guys on after him were hillarious

Hi Chop71,

Which gig was that at, and do you mind if I use that quote in my bio?

Cheers,
Dayne

Dayne’s comedy might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I have seen him perform a number of times and I have seen people in the audience literally in fits of uncontrollable laughter from his absurd stories and awkward audience interaction. I’m looking forward to seeing his set tonight.
