Death in Yarralumla

ACT Policing Criminal Investigation detectives are investigating the death of a 75-year-old woman at a house in Yarralumla.

Police were called to the scene by ACT Ambulance at around 9pm this evening (Monday, 2 April).

Police are treating the death as suspicious.

Investigations to determine the cause of her death are underway by detectives and AFP Forensic Services at the scene.

A man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The 32-year-old son of the woman found deceased last night in Yarralumla has been arrested and charged with Murder.

About 9 pm last night (Monday, April 2) ACT Policing were called to the Yarralumla home by ACT Ambulance Service.

The 75-year-old woman was located in the kitchen and had no apparent wounds.

Her son was arrested by Criminal Investigations Detectives early this morning. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with Murder where police will be opposing bail.

A post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death at a later date.
