Detonators found at scene of gang member arrest

A 24-year-old Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member will face court today as police investigate items found at the scene of his arrest including guns, drugs and suspected explosive materials.

The Theodore man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with breaching bail conditions.

About 3pm yesterday, ACT Policing Taskforce Nemesis officers arrested the man in Kambah following a breach of bail conditions. He was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and identified as an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member.

Subsequently, search warrants were conducted at the address and two vehicles at the premises. Police located a rifle, a revolver, ammunition and ammunition components, suspected illicit drugs, suspected explosives and detonators.

AFP Specialist Response Group attended and removed the suspected explosive materials to render them safe.

Investigations regarding the seized items are ongoing, with a view to further charges.
