missing sheep

Imagine the shock and horror of walking down City Walk to discover one of “those” much loved sheep missing?

Who on earth would take a sheep sculpture?

Gold!

Just got back into town to hear this awful stunt. Agree #1 – apparently we don’t deserve nice things like delight as we walk through the city. Someone has determined otherwise. It’s the idea of sheep still able to scandalise us with their frozen moment of unnatural longing that makes shopping (a truely awful pursuit) in the city precinct possible for me. And no – I am neither Welsh nor New Zealander.

it’s obviously footrot

Surely if it were footrot there would be a sheep with no feet rather than feet with no sheep?

That really sucks. I’m all for public art where it can be seen and appreciated – and I mean the stuff you can walk around, not the stuff stuck by the roadside and viewed at 80kmh.

Angle Grinder? CSI – FAIL for you guys. Two stubs still have reinforcement protruding and all have uneven breakage lines. It’s impact damage. Someone has just kept belting it until it gave way. The squatters chair right leg rest has been broken off for at least three months.
It’s unfortunate that cast artworks just aren’t vandal resistant enough for Civic. The sculpture of three figures ascending stairs while reading is currently only two.
At least the new one at the start of Gorema place is having anti skateboard grind plates embedded in the edges before the fences come down. The first person to spraypaint the rocks under the mesh is going to cause a headache though.

CSI fail #2 ….it’s obviously footrot

Oh No!!!! not the Dog!

This is a theft from all of us. Liked the sheep? You’ll probably never see it again. Sheep, the zebras, the cube. And someone must have seen it being done, surely.

When can we get a replacement?

(Also, how do you steal a metal sheep?)

Its easy when you know how! It would be hilarious if this was an attempt to redistribute public art around the place.

Any Welshmen been spotted nearby, can’t trust the buggers around sheep.

PB, that’s in very poor taste. An opportunity to knock New Zealanders should never be wasted on the Welsh.

Wow, those New Zealanders are getting strong, eh bro?

*sad face*

Word has it the police are looking for a jolly swagman

I blame the bunyip statue. I’ve never trusted that thing.

Or possibly a drunk bogan mistaking an explanation for an instruction:

Bogan 1: “what’s that?
Bogan 2: “steel sheep”;
Bogan 1: “OK, let do it”

Steel sheep?

#1 completely agree.

But seriously, what is one going to do with a steel(?) sheep without legs. Looks like someone used an angle grinder, so its a planned theft, not drunks.

I wonder what it was made of? perhaps its going to be melted down for scrap.

How does one remove a metal sheep with a grinder, in the mall, without being noticed?

Passer-by: What you up to mate?
Thief: Sheep need shearing this time of year.
Passer-by: That so. Better carry on then.

Oh no, they left its toes, how is it going to walk after going on the bender I am sure it dissapeared on??

And bollards are only as good as the next idiot who pulls or kicks them down.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

And what incompetent ACT Govt employee couldn’t be arsed to even erect four bollards and a bit of safety netting properly.
