DIY Wotz on guide for the Friday the 13th weekend of April 2007

By 12 April 2007 20

So we turn again to the hive mind for assistance in finding events to entertain ourselves at this weekend.

Let rip in the comments!

[And if all the folk with nothing to do could refrain from telling us how they plan to re-organise their sock draw, and why we should find that interesting, it would be much appreciated and might make the page useful for people who are actually planning on going and doing something]

I’m interested in forming a scrape the prat off the road party, after he gets wiped out trying to reach one of these infringing signs anywhere in Canberra.

This Friday 13th at Greenroom my lovely band Barrel of Monkeys are opening for Sydney DumnBass/Metal infusion band Many Machines On Nine.

I do not plan on rearranging my sock draw.

The show starts at 8 and it costs money (not sure much though).

Canberra Marathon on Sunday morning – although anyone capable of actually running a marathon probably knows that! Also, if you are held up by the Marathon, try not to abuse the VOLUNTEERS.

Genie: what rules are used in those poker tournaments? no limit hold’em?

Genie1:39 pm, 14 Apr 07

Caf -

Clubpoker is No Limit Holdem… usually starting with $2000 (sometimes $3000) in chips, blinds increasing every 15mins. Occasionally they will run the odd Pot Limit Omaha… Its also a ‘self dealt’ game.. so instead of a dealer button, the dealing just gets passed around the table every hand. The rules are similar to Casino rules, as Clubpoker is run by Casino trained staff..

Its alot of fun – i suggest checking out the website and coming along one night. Just note some nights are free while others are like $5 to enter which then becomes the prize money at the end of the night.
