Dominic Lane to be the new Emergency Services Commissioner

Simon Corbell has announced our new emergency services commissioner:

“I am pleased to announce Dominic Lane’s appointment and welcome him to the important position of Emergency Services Commissioner,” Mr Corbell said.

“Mr Lane brings with him 25 years of emergency services experience to this vital role to ensure efficient and effective emergency response for the ACT community.”

Mr Lane is currently Assistant Commissioner with the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS). He is responsible for service delivery and capability improvement across the entire NSW Rural Fire Service.

Mr Lane started his career as a volunteer and has held various positions including District Manager, Policy and Standards Manager and Regional Manager and most recently occupied the role of Assistant Commissioner.

These roles involved skills including frontline operational capabilities as well as strategic oversight positions and management roles which will all be crucial aspects in his new role as ACT Emergency Services Commissioner.

Anyone out there know what awards the ribbons denote. I think the blue and gold one is for long service and was known as the Parramatta medal in the ADF.
