Drama Workshops with Canberra Youth Theatre Semester 1 2015!

| CanberraYouthTheatre

Canberra Youth Theatre’s Workshop Ensemble Program provides a place where young and emerging artists can be creative and actively develop fundamental theatre performance skills. It is a fun and engaging program all about process. Through participation in theatre games and exercises during weekly acting workshops, acting ensembles develop, extend and strengthen fundamental skills in improvisation, voice, movement, character, storytelling and theatre making in a variety of styles and structures.

The first few weeks of the workshop is spent discovering what skills the ensemble have, what their interests are and what they hope to achieve from the workshop. This ensures that every semester is uniquely programmed for each ensemble and that they have opportunity to express who they are in a creative environment.

Throughout the semester the ensemble focuses on developing and extending strong fundamentals in acting through a variety of skills and performance styles. They also work collaboratively with each other and their tutor to create a short performance that implements these skills. At the end of the semester family and friends are invited to our C Block Theatre at Gorman Arts Centre to watch the performance.

This semester our 13-17yrs Ensembles will perform their work at Fast+Fresh presented at the Canberra Theatre Centre!
