I would like to invite all drummers to participate in a drumming parade, which will take place at the Belconnen Festival on Saturday the 13th of November. This will be another spectacular production by THE BIG BANG THEORY, a community drumming group dedicated to taking the beat to the street. THE BIG BANG THEORY specialise in festival parades and have already preformed at Corinbank music festival, Canberra Fringe and Dragon Dreaming Festival.
The parade is the finale of the Razzle Dazzle concert and will depart from the Razzle Dazzle stage at 3pm. The Festival itself will be held in Margaret Timpson park, belconnen, at the front of Westfields, otherwise known as Belco Mall.
I have been busy making drums and tuned percussion with students from Lake ginninderra college over the last 12 weeks and we will need some intrepid souls to play these instruments during the parade. I am holding rehearals for the next two Wednesdays for people to try out the new drums, learn the beat, song and dance steps. Come along to Belconnen Community Centre Theatre on Swanson Place, Belconnen, from 6.30 – 8pm on Wednesday the 3rd and Wednesday the 10th of November for Rehearsal. Bring a drum or hand percussion that you can carry in a parade, if you don’t have a drum we will have the freshly made percussion at your disposal. I will be posting a video of the performance on Youtube during the weekend so people can practice at home.
