A 22-year-old Macgregor man will be summonsed after police caught him travelling 51km/h over the posted speed limit last night (Sunday, August 4).
About 11.30pm members from Belconnen Police Station detected the man travelling at 111 km/h on Florey Drive, Latham, which is a 60km/h sign posted speed zone.
Police stopped the driver and the 22-year-old man was subjected to an alcohol screening test which indicted the presence of alcohol. The driver was taken to Belconnen Police Station where he underwent breath analysis and returned an alcohol concentration of 0.071 grams of alcohol.
The man will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
