ACT Fire & Rescue are currently responding to reports of a car fire in Sleay Place, Dunlop.

Initial Emergency Triple Zero (000) call received at 4:25pm.

Update to follow.

4:40pm Saturday 31 March 2012

ACT Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene of a car fire in Sleay Place, Dunlop, to find the engine bay of a Mazda RX8 well alight.

The fire has now been extinguished. No neighboring property was damaged during the blaze.

Crews are due to depart the scene shortly after mop up operations are concluded.

I wonder if the rest of the car is OK. Buy it at auction, good candidate for an LS1 swap.

Sleay Place? When I first looked at that I thought it said “Sleazy Place”. I would have thought a street by that name would be more appropriately located in Fyshwick.

Sleay Place in Dunlop??? I don’t think so. Maybe Fleay Place but I live very close to there and haven’t seen any cars on fire. Well, not this week at least. I might go for a walk and check it out though.
