Mayor Rattenbury, and whichever poor members of TAMS staff couldn’t come up with an excuse, will be getting up bright and early tomorrow to take part in Gift of Life’s DonateLife Walk. At least they’ll know they’re sacrificing their sleep for a good cause.

“The DonateLife Walk gets people moving for a good cause, and I’m pleased to join with the 32 member TAMS team to raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation,” Mr Rattenbury said.

“We will be joined by colleges, businesses and other government bodies to walk for this important cause and encourage discussion about our organ and tissue donation wishes with family members and loved ones.”

Mr Rattenbury encouraged Canberrans to register themselves or a team today.

Sacrificing sleep? If the walk started at 5.30 I might agree but 6am is hardly an unusual waking hour.

Who organises these things on a work day?
Then again, there seems to be a lot of people who start work after 9 in this town.
