Easter eating?

I’ve been asked about dining in Canberra over Easter.

Will a lot of places be closed on Easter Sunday or on Monday?

Any suggestions for a BYO suitable for a family with young teens, preferably in the Civic area?

Thanks.

Lots of places in Manuka were open around lunchtime, so that’s a fair bet too.

I saw an ‘open’ sign for the Pancake Parlour out on Northbourne this morning, if you want an expensive carbolicious meal. They always surcharge heavily.

If Xmas is anything to go by, many of the Chinese places in Dickson should be open. Something to do with not celebrating Easter, probably.

I’d suggest issuing the teenagers with cookbooks and pointing them at the kitchen… Bring Back Child Labour!

Restaurants open over easter will be a hit and miss, most closed but some open.
Hey but maccas are open all weekend lol

Mecca Bah opens at 12 on Monday, and Verve at 9.00 am, or possibly 8.00 – they weren’t sure when I asked them yesterday.

I can tell you that Easter Sunday is pretty woeful for dinner. Last year the best we could find in the cheap-and-cheerful cohort was the now-closed Hong Viet. I think it closed for good reason – it was terrible!

During the day the usual cafes in the Gus’ area seemed to be open as I recall.
