Everybody loves to give, but at Christmas we can give a little too much away.

The Canberra Environment Centre’s inaugural Eco Christmas Market will be taking place on Saturday 10th December from 10am – 4pm at the Canberra Environment Centre (Cnr Lawson Cres & Lennox Crossing, Acton, by the National Museum), and is excited to offer the local community a one-stop-shop to environmentally and socially responsible Christmas gifts!

With the growing concern many of the Canberra community have regarding the impacts their purchasing choices around Christmas time have, buying sustainable and fair trade goods turns what could be a negative impact into a positive one.

Some ‘outside the gift box’ gift ideas include second-hand ‘vintage’ bikes, Corinbank Festival tickets, solar panels, organic wine, fair trade bags, rainwater tanks, pots of mixed herbs and veggies, massage vouchers, and even recycled bottle cushions in eco-friendly fibres, to name a few!

So, this year, escape the mass-produced mayhem of Christmas shopping, have a positive impact on the world’s environment and people, and wrap up a better way of living under your tree by shopping at the Eco Christmas Market.
Think and shop outside the gift box this Christmas!
