The Liberals’ Jeremy Hanson is taking up cudgels on behalf of the Weston Creek festival which has had it’s grant application turned down:

Member for Molonglo Jeremy Hanson will this week call on ACT Labor to review its decision not to fund the Weston Creek community festival, after the local community council’s application was rejected with no explanation.

“I will call on ACT Labor to consult with the Weston Creek Community Council and review their funding decision,” Mr Hanson said today.

“The council applied for the festival funding in July and recently received a letter of rejection with no explanation.

“This is an important community festival that has been held for the past 40 years.

“I am very disappointed that ACT Labor has not worked with the community council and has instead prioritised funding for a roadside public artwork in Weston Creek which the community didn’t ask for.
