Come on and give triathlon a try! Challenge yourself and take home your own special FIT Canberra Centenary Triathlon medal!

Canberra’s Females in Training (FIT) invites novices and experienced female triathletes to participate in the club’s Women’s and Girls Canberra Centenary Triathlon (WAG-Tri). It’s on Sunday 1st December 2013 at Black Mountain Peninsula, Canberra. The WAG-TRI is about fun, challenge and participation. The WAG-Tri features a lake swim, bike ride and run, with challenges to suit both novice and experienced triathletes. If you don’t want to do the whole event, get together with your friends and enter as a team of 2 or 3 and share the swimming, cycling and running legs.

Starting in 1997, the WAG-tri was Australia’s first triathlon for women. While many similar events have since been held FIT thinks the WAG-tri is still the best!!

To celebrate this unique event, all 2013 participants will receive a special WAG-Tri Canberra Centenary Medal as a memento of the event.

There’ll also be lots of barrel draw prizes including a fabulous new bike donated by The Bike Shed.

After participating as novices in the WAG-Tri, many get the ‘triathlon bug’ and go on to compete in triathlons around Australia — and the world. In September 2013 several FIT members were selected to represent Australia in their age groups in the World Triathlon Championships in London and will also compete in the Canberra event.

AnneMarie, a novice in the 2012 WAG-Tri, had this to say: “I crossed the line with my hands held high and although my heart was pounding, it was with a pride that I had actually achieved something I never thought I would. When I think of my first WAG-Tri, I still can recall how good I felt and how supportive everyone was.”

So have a go, challenge yourself. Achieve things you never dreamt of being able to do.

And take with you great memories and your FIT Canberra Centenary medal!
