Functional Review

Richard Mulcahy has taken a moment out from editorialising in the Financial Review to put out a media release asking why the Government’s super-secret functional review (but not so secret it can’t be used to justify anything the Government can’t otherwise explain) cost $350,000.

That seems a lot for the sensible advice “don’t pay for things that achieve nothing”, which I would happily have provided for a mere $100,000.

Now that I think about it, I’ve been providing it for free for the last five years, where’s my bloody money Stanhope?

Why won’t they make it public? It is all about us. And we have paid for it.

Looks like a fair amount to me – I’ve been involved in a number of projects that have been way smaller and that have cost a fair bit more than that.

Maybe they’re just waiting for your invoice?
