The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies and the Embassy of the Republic of Argentine presents the third film of the Argentine Film Festival:

“Gatica, el Mono”(Monkey Gatica)

This movie is about 1940´s Argentine boxing idol José Marìa Gatica, nicknamed “the monkey”, from his childhood years to his tragic end. His life and career were intertwined with the rise and fall of former president Juan Domingo Perón. Gatica, el Mono was awarded the Premio Goya (Goya Prize) to the best foreign Spanish-speaking movie (Spain,1994)

The showing of the film (136 minutes) will be followed by light food and beverages through the kind support of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic.

The film is in Spanish with English subtitles. Admission is free. No RSVP required.
