Always a great outing for the family.

Make sure you take a set of dry clothes for the kids because the gem panning ponds are always incredibly popular – but also very wet.

But I will say again, hoping someone from Geoscience reads this:

The water is always freezing and in the shade on the south side of this wonderful passive solar building. It isn’t good for the health of our kids. Please put the panning ponds on the northern side of the building in the sunshine. And consider not filling them until the morning so the water isn’t as cold? It’s a lot easier to see the gemstones in the sunshine too!

It would also be great if there was someone there able to discuss the potential for using geothermal air conditioning in Canberra housing – given the GA building is itself managed this way.

Thanks.
