million paws walk

This just in from the RSPCA:

Keep an eye out over the next month for these quirky white dogs. They appeared at Regatta Point on Monday 22 April as part of RSPCA ACT’s 2013 Million Paws Walk launch.

Million Paws Walk will take place at Stage 88 and Commonwealth Park on 19 May 2013. Registering for the walk helps animals in need in Canberra.

The installation of 49 white dogs and one black dog symbolises standing out and up for animal welfare.

CEO Michael Linke explains “The idea behind the installation is to say to the community that you don’t need a dog to walk in Million Paws Walk and support animal welfare. You just need to stand out from the crowd and come along and support animal welfare. We expect 4,000 real dogs on the day, so there will be plenty of dogs for people without dogs to see, pat, cuddle and walk with.”

Watch out over the next four weeks to see where the white dogs will pop up!
