Twelve talented amateur photographers from Canberra and the surrounding region have had their images selected from 750 entries to feature in the 2015 ActewAGL Postcards From Your Town calendar.

Chadwick Clark from Lyneham was the big winner, receiving a cash prize of $1,000 for his winning photo City Lights – surreal morning lights in the capital, which is published on the cover.

“It took a lot of practice, time and bad shots to get the city lights photo so to have that one selected as the major winner was very exciting,” said Chadwick.

The other talented local amateur snappers were Harry Young, Broulee; Hans Rebhandl, Goulburn; David Tao, Queanbeyan; Michelle Taylor, Fraser; Charmaine du Plessis, Isabella Plains; Ten-Herng Lai, Acton; Maree Myhill, Young; Daren Steele, Greenway; Liudmila Norkina, Canberra; Chadwick Clark, Lyneham; Marnie Gigliotti, Karabar; Karen Broomfield, Forde.

Calendars are available now, while stocks last, at the ActewAGL Assist store in Civic and Energy Shops in Fyshwick, Goulburn, Nowra and Young. ActewAGL staff volunteers will also be handing out calendars at Christmas Lights in the City from 12 to 14 December.
