ACT Policing is seriously concerned for the wellbeing of two men who were victims of a weapons incident in Civic in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, January 5), but are yet to be located.

The incident occurred around 3am today, on the eastern side of Northbourne Avenue between London Circuit and Alinga Street.

The alleged offender in the incident, a 22-year-old Theodore man, had been ejected from a nightclub. Police believe an altercation ensued on the footpath outside between the alleged offender and others who had left the nightclub.

All local Accident and Emergency departments in the ACT have been contacted and given the potential seriousness of the wounds, police hold concerns for the health and welfare of the victims.

The offender is held in the ACT Watch House and is likely to face a charge of possess offensive weapon with intent.

Police are anxious to contact the victims involved, or anyone who may have information about their whereabouts. Anyone who may have seen the incident, or who can otherwise assist the investigation is urged to contact Police Operations on 131-444.
