Greens and snail fodder

There was a topic recently suggesting shredding documents and to then use the result as wormfood to get rid of sensitive material.

I just got back from an overseas business trip to discover the children had again totally ignored bringing the mail in. Kids these days don’t even use email, so you can imagine how much snail mail must occupy their minds. Anyway sorting through the mess I discover again that snails LOVE ordinary bleached white paper envelopes but completely avoid whatever the Greens are using for their election pamphlets. Is this because:

1) Snails really want you to read the Green message, or

2) The paper and inks used are not good for the environment?

Option 2 I’m guessing, but probably just coated paper that they can’t get into
