The Greens’ Amanda Bresnan has announced her intention to try and get the Official Visitors (who inspect institutions where vulnerable people are living or being cared for) shifted from inside the organisations they oversee to the Public Advocate’s office.
Sounds entirely sensible.

Those places are currently ‘inspected’ by internal people? That doesn’t good. It’s like if the safety and hygeine of a restaurant was just inspected by the restaurant itself.
