Greenway grassfire

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue are currently responding to a grass fire burning at Athllon Drive, Greenway.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

Seven units are at the scene.

The fire is located near the Lake Tuggeranong dam wall and is burning in a westerly direction.

The fire is approximately 5m x 20m in size and is being controlled.

The Fire Danger Rating where this fire is burning is LOW-MODERATE.

Fires burning in LOW-MODERATE conditions can be easily controlled.

There is little to no risk to life and property in the urban or rural areas of the ACT.

2:10 PM

ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue crews are conducting mopping up operations at the grass fire site along Athllon Drive, Greenway.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

Seven units will remain on scene for some time

The fire has been contained.

2:22 PM

The fire has been extinguished by ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue units and patrols of the area are being conducted for any hot spots.

The cause is unknown but has been deemed suspicious.

ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Policing will shortly conduct investigations at the site.
